I've seen a lot of people talking about skin swapping lately, and I know that the idea can be confusing to some players. So here are the basics for skin swapping in League of Legends. What is skin swapping? Skin swapping is a method of changing your character's skin without having to purchase a new skin. This can be done through some in-game commands, and the new skin will not be "tied" to a particular champion or account.
You cannot skin swap onto a champion that you do not have the skin for currently. Most skin swapping commands can be done by going to your name on the top of your screen, clicking on it and typing the following: /change skin type epicenter. How does skin swapping work? There are a few ways you can skin swap. One way is through an in-game command that allows you to change skin without any skin in your skin list while maintaining the skin you have selected.
This means that every skinned champion will show up as skinless, but if skin swapping is done, it tells the client you have skin on all of your skinned champions. It also keeps skins selections, so selecting an owned skin does not replace or remove the skin. Another skin swapping method is skinless skin swapping, which skin is switching with skinless champions who maintain their skin selection throughout the skin swap. How do I skin swap?
There are a few different ways to skin swap, but it comes down to 2 main methods: In-game (basic) and through exporting and importing your settings (advanced). However, skin swapping is not available for all skin types. Epic and Legendary skin types can be skin swapped. In order to skin swap in League of Legends, you must have a skin selection of skinned champions. This means that if you skin swap to a skinless champion, you will have a skinless skin selection. In order to skin swap in-game, follow these steps: Open your summoner profile by clicking on the shield icon at the top of the page. Click on the skin tab and select skinned skin. Type the following into the chat/command section of the tab screen during the game: /league skin type epicenter or /league skin type legendry. You will now have skin on your skinless champion.
To remove skin swapping with in-game commands, simply type one of these 2 commands again (don't forget to skin swap before typing the command, or it will not work).
